Learn more about the November 3, 2020 Municipal Election. How to register to vote in San Mateo County, check your registration status, and requesting voter registration application.
Welcome to this week’s installment of the Election Corner!
Are you registered to vote? Have you moved or changed your name recently? Now is a good time to make sure your voter registration is up-to-date and you’re ready to participate in the November 3 election. Use the San Mateo County My Election Info portal to confirm your voter registration information, or go directly to the California Secretary of State website to complete a new voter registration application. You can also request a paper voter registration application from the San Mateo County Elections office or the City Clerk’s office.
Voters without a fixed address are encouraged to register by providing a description of where you live including cross-streets. This allows the County Elections office to issue you a ballot that includes all of the contests that you are eligible to vote for based on where you live.
Did you know 16 and 17-year olds in California can pre-register to vote? Pre-register today and your voter registration will become active on your 18th birthday.
Be sure to register to vote and confirm your registration information by October 19. If you have questions about voter registration, eligibility, or to request a paper voter registration application, contact the San Mateo County Elections office at (888)762–8683 or visit www.smcvote.org.
